A little while ago, I saw a commercial for Genworth financial, asking for nominations of caregivers that should be recognized. Given our discussions about both formal and informal caregiving, I thought it was particularly relevant.

There were some pretty interesting stories. I feel that a lot of times we forget about the different types of care giving and for whom we care for. When we hear the word 'care giving' we automatically think of a person of old age. There are individuals on the facebook page who had stories of care giving for an ill child. Research states that typically care givers are women. There is an interesting story of a woman who was involved in a serious car accident and is now being cared for by her husband as a result of those injuries. We do not think of circumstances such as these.
